Prayers for Easter from our Regional Minister Rev Dr John Claydon

He is risen, Alleluia! He is risen indeed.

Praise God for

the wonder of His love shown in Jesus and the glory of his resurrection

the victory of the cross and the hope of the resurrection

those who made know the Christian message to us and helped us to grow in faith.

That He 'was in Christ reconciling the world to himself'

 Pray that

the message of God' redeeming and reconciling love may clearly be made known at this time

people may be drawn to God and find hope, peace and love in Him

Christians who are persecuted for their faith may know protection, comfort, encouragement and hope

as we emerge from the pandemic people may be sensible and sensitive

as churches and missional communities look to the future they may creativity and imagination led by the Spirit and may be fruitful for the Kingdom

the NBA Assembly weekend may honour God and be a time of encouragement for us.

NBA Prayer Bulletin

We are asked to pray this week for Stocksfield Baptist Church, Minister Pete Jorysz
We start streaming live worship services from Sun 11th April and it would be good to pray that we reach more people with God's word.
We are considering various social action projects we could develop as a church and it would be good to pray for God's guidance.

This week we are praying for Headland Baptist Church in Hartlepool

www.headlandbaptistchurch.co.uk

"The Bread and Butter Thing"

This is a new project coming to us at Headland.  Food that would be thrown out by suppliers will be delivered to our church and sold much cheaper.  As well as reducing food waste it will  help families financially.  We pray that as people collect their shopping we can become a very relevant presence in the community, and that we can serve with a humble heart.

Our Church Family

We have had people lose loved ones through this pandemic, and one family in particular has lost two close family members within weeks. We ask for prayer for them and also for those in our church who are struggling with ill health. We seem to have been hit hard over the Christmas period with very serious illnesses.

Easter Trail

Using the artwork of One Friday, we plan to use posters to tell the Easter Story in a trail around the three churches on the Headland. We pray that as people come to visit the Headland they may follow the trail and understand something of the story of the Gospel, that it will be a witness to them and that they will want to know more about what it means for them and their life.

We want to give thanks for "The Bread and Butter Thing" that has just fallen into our laps and is very much a God thing.

We give thanks for the opportunity that we have had to turn our church into a prayer room called "The Sanctuary." We want to give thanks for all the hours of prayer that have taken place over this time.

Give thanks for the way that God has provided for Headland Baptist church, though small in numbers, mighty in God's power.

NBA Praying Together

NBA Prayers for Sunday 7th March

A CALL TO PRAYER

This Lent we are calling on all NBA Churches to give time to listening to God and discerning what we feel God is saying to us as churches and a Baptist movement in the North East of England.  We recognise that over the past year we have done much praying and seeking God, but in this phase of gradually emerging from (we hope) the final lockdown is an important time when we need the guidance and direction of God.

This week, can you find some space to listen to God and to be attentive to Him.   Can you find a place where you can share with others in your church or the wider Baptist family what God puts into your heart, or what you have discerned over the past year that God is communicating to our churches.

So instead of making prayer requests this week, we ask you to stop, to be still and to listen.  As Mother Teresa once said, "God speaks in the silence of the heart. Listening is the beginning of prayer."
