For Thanksgiving:
The church ran three youth nights earlier in the holidays which were very encouraging.
Our Holiday club, which we are in the middle of, has good numbers attending and all is going well.
In recent weeks we have had a dedication service and a request for baptism others have asked to become church members.
God's gracious working amongst and through us.
The twice monthly Drop in Coffee Mornings which are drawing in people from around the church.

For prayer:
The Alpha course we are planning for, which will commence in September.
God's guidance as we pray and think through the Springboard report.
God's equipping and empowering as we seek to serve him where he has placed us.

NBA Prayers for 11th August - Whitley Lodge Baptist Church (Whitley Bay)

Our pastor George Mackenzie and his wife Gail have been with us since October 2007. They are moving on (George's last service as our Pastor is today) and George is taking up a pastoral role at Hawick Baptist Church.

Thanks for:
1. George's time with us, his tremendous ability to connect with people, and for his being the first ever minister of Whitley Lodge Baptist - a title he will never lose.
2. An invitation by the local school to host a coffee morning for the parents and grandparents who have just dropped their kids off at the school.
3. An exciting baptism in the sea, where a number became Christians.

Pray for:
1. George and Gail as they start their new work.
2. For the church as a whole and the elder and deacons in particular as we pray and consider the next chapter.
3. And pray that we will pray!

NBA Prayers for 4th August - Spennymoor Jubilee IM Church (near Durham)

  • The Sunday Morning Kingdom Kids, that they may continue their witness and that during the Summer Holidays attendances may continue.
  • The Youth Club, that when it commences again after the holidays that attendances will improve.
  • The Friday Drop-in, that as attendances have increased and it is a huge success in reaching out, a seed to know more about Jesus may be planted in some of the hearts of those who attend.
  • Pray for Bob and Madge Thompson who are now well into their 90's and find it impossible to attend, that God will bless them.
  • Pray for our work in Churches Together, that we may have an effective witness in the community.
  • Pray for our services on Sunday Evenings, that God may move upon us and that we might see an increase in attendance of those who are searching for something more meaningful in life.

NBA Prayers for 21st July - Stocksfied Baptist Church (Tyne valley)

PRAISE
Give thanks for recent baptisms of new believers, especially for two Iranian young men on Easter Sunday.
Thank God for many signs of the life of the Holy Spirit amongst us: a new format for all-age worship which has been well received (by most!), a new inter-generational house group, a Chris Duffett-style 'Big Hearted' evangelism outreach, new members and new faces in the congregation on Sundays.

PRAYER
We are hosting and running a children's holiday club this week, from 22nd – 26th July, in partnership with other local churches. May God work powerfully through the programme and through it bring people to faith or into closer contact with him.
We are raising funds to undertake work on the church building, renovating toilets and providing better disabled access. Pray for generous giving and for the improved facilities to stimulate more mission opportunities.
We still face a great challenge to become more missional and to disciple one another well. Pray for the church, that we will embrace these challenges wholeheartedly.
